“One of the reasons that we have come back to Clare so many times is due to the way the evening runs so smoothly and the standards which are regularly achieved and kept so high."
Ben Price, Cunningham Lindsey, March 2012
Dining at Clare College
Our catering manager and head chef will be delighted to work with you in planning the lunch or dinner menu for your conference delegates or dinner guests, with fine wines chosen carefully from our cellar.
The Great Hall
Our magnificent 17th century Great Hall is available during vacations and seats up to 149. The perfect setting for large formal dinners, on summer evenings sunlight streams through the stained glass windows and in winter, candlelight gives a traditional, time-honoured feel to the Hall.
The Small Hall
Groups of up to 44 can enjoy intimate dinners in the Small Hall. Just across the corridor from the Great Hall, this is where the Fellows' dine during term.
The Garden Room
The Garden Room in the Gillespie Centre is an elegant, contemporary space for dining and on warm summer evenings the large sliding doors can be opening to create an al fresco feel. Drinks receptions can be held in Lerner Court or the Elton Bowring Room.
The College Buttery
During vacations we can offer lunch and dinner in the self-service Buttery located in Old Court which caters for up to 120 people at a time.
For residential guests, this is also where breakfast is served.
